BREAKING: Labour Party Chairman sacked, new leader emerges in Bayelsa

Less than 50 days to the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, the embattled Acting Chairman of the Labour Party, Bayelsa State chapter, Eneyi Zidougha, has been removed from office.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Zidougha was sacked by stakeholders during a state congress held at the party secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital on Friday.

The stakeholders cited financial misappropriation, anti-party activities, among others as reasons for their action.

Meanwhile, a former Vice Chairman of the Labour Party in Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Ebi Sikpi, was elected as the substantive chairman of the party in the state.

Sikpi expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for considering him worthy of leading the Labour Party ahead of the 2023 general election, promising harmony.

“We will make sure the party is united for the election of our principal, Peter Obi.

“There is hope, light has come to the party in Bayelsa State,” he said.
