2023: How I handle betrayers – Tinubu speaks amidst ‘row’ with Buhari

Amidst alleged row with President Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election, has said that betrayals propel him to work harder.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Tinubu stated this on Sunday at a town hall meeting in Benin City, the Edo State capital with APC leaders, trade unions and civil society organisations.

“Disappointment is an energiser for me. You disappoint me, I work harder. You betray me, I don’t get angry, I ignore you.

“The reason is that you are not my God and you are not my creator. My mother taught me that if you are sad, I will share your sorrow with you. If you are happy, I will rejoice with you. If you are poor, I will share the little I have with you,” Tinubu said.

Furthermore, the 70-year-old urged the electorate to reject the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the forthcoming poll, saying the party has nothing to offer.

On the criticisms of President Buhari-led APC administration by the PDP, Tinubu said the main opposition party should be ignored.

“People who can’t give power to Nigeria say they want to come back.

“In only 8 years, APC put rail back. We are putting refineries back and we will produce for you.

“They can abuse Buhari from morning till night, he does not hear their abuse. Abuse him, rail he provided, second Niger Bridge he provided, Lagos-Ibadan expressway he provided. Benin-Ore Port will be done so that you don’t need to come to Lagos to clear your goods,” the APC candidate said.

  1. That’s it. Shun criticism, keep focus and continue in people oriented program/ project. The Jagaban Force, irresponsible. 2023 reality!

    1. Is that all you have done in seven years ? APC brought down the economy , devalued our currency , enthrone poverty , and kinapping.

    2. People oriented program? What do you mean? Nigeria is a different ball game compared to Lagos because the entire country has more sane and smarter people that might predispose Jagaban with social prejudices.

  2. Jagaban sir you have done well for APC, sacrificing so so much . It is a pity PMB is paying you off with betrayal. But I am not surprised. Hausa/Fulani hegemonic stand on Nigeria caused by the colonialist amalgamaion. It is an insult upon this nation and a gross iinjustice that after 8 yrs of PMB, the North is trying to get back to power. In saner clones, the north bought not to fied and candidate rather they should support either BAT or Obi . That is fairness! We need to change our national anthem that reads “to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign” . Nigeria is sitting upon a keg of gun powder. Very soon it will explode. A particular region cqn not continue to dominate others and expect opeaceto rreign. Ask the Tigray people of Ethiopia.

    1. Lets all be fair in our speech, and stop attacking the Hausa Govt. For now, they ware a better leader compered to what as happen in the past. How i which we go back to the military regime may be we would experice a truly patriotic leader once more
God bless my nation And the president

      1. Go back to military I heard. Does that sound reasonable. No no. Don’t ever think of military coming to rule. How many of the military leaders ruled well.

      2. Who told you the past military leaders are patriotic? Better don’t deceive yourself. That’s why we sent them packing. Do you think they let on their own? We sent them packing, ask BAT, Wole Shoyinka, keyamo, Joe Odumakin & host of others. May the dead rest in peace

    2. What Jagaban is getting from Burari is exactly what people who offer help with strings attached to satisfy primordial selfish interest.

    3. Hausa Hausa Hausa, is it not same Hausa Governors or rather Northern Governors that overwhelmingly said they wanted Tinubu to win, Same North that elected Obasanjo in 99 and Good luck in 2011 and same North where Jagaban will get the most votes again. Hausa Hausa Hausa hatred will not benefit you or I

  3. Can any sincere Nigerian and not a bastard explain to me the deferent between BAT and the Mafias that are holding Nigeria down. Tribalism has kill the conscience of the majority of the citizens of this country that make them to follow their oppressors blindly.

  4. Tinubu should go and rest he too old to rule this country, he has absolutely nothing to offer. APC has failed us, tinubu and his party has nothing to offer. Tinubu go and take care of your health.

  5. Leadership is a great and honored things that were most to be respected and listened through all our Corey matters of affairs regularly, so our aim and objectives is fortunately to be destine with responsible leaders & good in hearing the vital advises from its citizens that could were cross observed for findings easy solutions to overcome their economic with social public right to enjoy there betterment throughout their national deeds if all cooperate to devote things change in all their mean of deed on their own.

  6. Nigeria will not explode. That is your own imagination. When Obasanjo became President, the northern people make it happened. 8 years in the life of a nation is minutes. Nigeria is not going to end by 8 years. If Atiku wins, the next President after him would go to East without any controversy.

  7. If I were you I would not disrespect a sitting present no matter what. Must it be you? You could have supported one of your big men. Osinbajo, Fashola, Aregbesola…. We wouldn’t like to have a President that will be sleeping at the slightest opportunity. What of the alleged drug offence in USA? What of the 8 containers full of old Naira notes? Must it be you? Sir. Ask one of your boys and girls to come and take over. Mrs Kemi Adeosun will make a good Leader.

  8. No body betrayed Tinubu, he betrayed himself, when he was working against Jonathan, he was happy, now is his turn. If you like south to be president Tinubu would have support ibo President so that justice will raign.
