Thousands of Nigerians register for Tinubu support group 48 hours after unveiling

Thousands of Nigerians have registered as members of the Renewed Network (TRN), a support group for President Bola Tinubu, less than 48 hours after its unveiling.
The initiative is being championed by Abdulaziz Yari, former governor of Zamfara and senator representing Zamfara West.
Mohammed Abubakar and Emmanuel Osita, national facilitators of the platform, said the group has begun attracting widespread political interest and grassroots mobilisation across the country.
They said Nigerians from different regions had started registering as members shortly after the platform was unveiled.
The facilitators added that several political stakeholders have also indicated interest in associating with the initiative.
In a statement, the facilitators said individuals linked to more than 30 state governors reached out to signal interest in the platform.
They said senior advisers and other influential political figures across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones also contacted the group.
Political analysts said the early response reflects growing attention around the platform, noting that the initiative is widely viewed as part of a broader strategy to consolidate nationwide support for Tinubu ahead of a possible re-election bid in 2027.
The facilitators said the Renewed Network is the outcome of months of consultations, adding that the initiative emerged after engagements led by Yari with political stakeholders, grassroots leaders, youth organisations, women’s groups and former elected officials across the country.
They said the consultations revealed concerns about sustaining the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
The facilitators said the discussions led to the creation of a structured national platform aimed at mobilising grassroots political participation across the federation.
The network includes political actors, community organisers, women leaders, youth organisations and former councillors drawn from Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
Supporters of the initiative said the platform is anchored on the belief that Nigeria is entering a phase of economic recovery and institutional reform under Tinubu.
They added that the group also seeks to promote civic engagement, expand political inclusion and encourage greater participation in democratic processes.
Preparations are underway for a national launch of the Renewed Network, with insiders revealing that the event is expected to attract supporters, political stakeholders, youth leaders, women’s organisations and delegates from the 36 states and the federal capital territory.
The group has called on Nigerians, particularly young people, women, community leaders and political stakeholders, to join the movement.
Observers said the early interest in the platform suggests it could become an influential political force as preparations for the 2027 elections gather pace.
