12 days to the 2023 general election, a former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Usman Yusuf, on Monday said northern governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not deliver the 2023 presidency for Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the ruling party.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that speaking on Channels Television, Yusuf, the Special Adviser on Community Engagement to the Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa Presidential Campaigns, said the Northern masses who would vote in the coming election, are “fed up”.
“We (northerners) are not the people that anyone would say ‘vote for this’. People are fed up; people are tired,” Yusuf said.
He added: “Each time I go to Katsina and I come back, I am heartbroken.
“Politicians get into office not to serve, but to serve themselves and their families.
“We must change that, and you can only change it if you get into the trenches. And that is why we are getting into the trenches because we see the sufferings of our people.”
