BREAKING: Appeal Court Retains Oshiomhole as APC Chairman

A court of appeal sitting in Abuja has returned Adams Oshiomhole, as the national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The court has restricted the ruling party from executing the judgement of a federal capital territory high court which ordered the former Edo State governor suspension.

Abubakar Yahaya, who chaired the three-man panel of judges, ordered a stay of execution pending the hearing of an application filed by Mr Oshiomhole.

The court order was issued after an ex-parte application Oshiomhole filed through his team of lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN. It will be recalled that the party’s NEC meeting was also postponed today after the Governor’s Forum met with President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock.

Oshiomhole has been embroiled in the toughest political battle of his life ever since some forces within the party have mounted a serious push for his removal. On Sunday, the national leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu weighed in on the crisis via an open letter, declaring support for Oshiomhole.

More to come…
