“Tinubu’s reforms strengthening global confidence in Nigeria” – Minister Idris

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has said that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms are strengthening global confidence in Nigeria.

Idris said this on Sunday in London during a World Press Conference ahead of President Tinubu’s official visit to the United Kingdom at the invitation of King Charles III.

The minister noted that the reforms of the present administration are opening brand new opportunities for trade, International cooperation and investment in Nigeria.

Idris described Tinubu’s expected visit to the UK at the instance of the King as a historic and strategic relationship between Nigeria and Britain.

He also said this visit showcases the impact of a great alliance built on deep diplomatic, economic, cultural, and democratic ties.

According to Idris, the president’s visit also provides an opportunity to deepen the already existing ties in key areas like education, climate action, security, technology and innovation.

He also noted that the Tinubu administration is prioritising human capital development with initiatives like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund which has enabled more than one million students to access financing for higher education.

Addressing efforts on security across the nation, Idris said the Nigerian government has strengthened intelligence sharing among relevant agencies to combat terrorism, banditry, and organised crime.

This initiative, the minister said has been expanded to a collaboration with other countries including the UK and the United States of America.

He further reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to religious freedom, peaceful coexistence, and national unity, emphasising that the country’s diversity remains one of its greatest strengths.

“We deeply value our long-standing partnership with the United Kingdom and look forward to strengthening collaboration in the years ahead,” Idris said.
