Crisis settlement: What APC should learn from PDP – Official

The national Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbodiyan, on Monday, advised that political parties should explore internal mechanisms when faced with a crisis.

This ensues at a time when the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is enmeshed in leadership crisis.

POLITICS NIGERIA reported how the suspension of the national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has caused a division in the party.

Although the national leader, Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari intervened, some members of the party have decided to go ahead with the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of Tuesday.

This paper earlier reported how the APC Governors’ announced the suspension of the NEC meeting.

Also, the suspension of Mr Oshiomhole was reversed by an appeal court on Monday evening.

However, Mr Ologbodiyan, who refused to speak on the internal crisis of the APC, expressed concerns on how the party has been ‘patronising’ the courts to obtain one exparte or the other.

“The appeal court has advised political parties to ensure that they settle their problems internally rather than ‘belabouring’ the courts,” He told our correspondent during an interview on Monday evening.

“In the PDP, we make sure that when there is a crisis, we explore internal mechanism. And that has been what our Chairman has stood on.”

“Another thing is that we ensure that our elections are fair and credible. Gone are those days when candidates are fielded based on how much money they have,” He added.
