Robbers have broken into the car of the National Youth Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja and carted away valuables such as his Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and banking tokens.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the incident happened on Tuesday night in Maitama, a high brow district in Nigeria’s capital city.
“Car broken into, glass shattered, bag stolen, Atm cards, tokens etc. Gone. Maitama. All is well,” Israel wrote on his verified Twitter handle.
This newspaper reports that the rate of robberies in the FCT has reached a worrying height in recent months, particularly along the Maitama axis.
As a result, many businesses close as early as possible.
Apart from robbery crimes, banditry has also posed another worry. In recent times, bandits have attacked residents in the FCT, killed some, including security operatives, and kidnapped several others.
