Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of Information, on Tuesday insisted that the 2023 election is credible.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that speaking in Washington DC, USA, during his official engagements with some international media organisations, Mohammed said the president-elect and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, losing the state; and incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari losing his home state of Katsina to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), means the 2023 election was fair.
“The President’s party lost the presidential election in Katsina, his home state.
“Equally, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, lost in his state, Lagos, while the Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Adamu, lost in Nasarawa state to the Labour Party.
“The Director-General (DG) of the Campaign Organisation of our party (Simon Lalong) also lost to PDP in Plateau State.
“Nothing gives this election more credence than those facts because there was no rigging in states where our bigwigs come from,” he said.
Furthermore, the minister stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost in the four states with the highest number of votes in the elections – Katsina, Kano, Kaduna and Lagos even when they were the ruling party’s controlled states, saying the allegation of rigging by the opposition did not add up.
These were carefully manipulated figures called results. Why is it that INEC cannot explain why parliamentary elections were uploaded, whereas, the presidential results were not. About three states had the same figures. How was that possible?
I believed strongly that, the 2023 election especially presidential and national assembly is the most credible, free and fair. So,the Nigerians who are singing riging, riging in favour of Tinubu are not rational thinkers.Let us embrace peace and movet our dear Nigeria forward.
