Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Osimhen has become a highly sought-after player following an outstanding season in Serie A, with both teams reportedly keen on securing his signature.
The Nigerian forward has been a revelation this season, scoring an impressive 21 goals in Italy’s top flight and helping Napoli in their quest to end their long wait for the Scudetto. However, despite the interest from two of England’s biggest clubs, Osimhen has now revealed that he is happy at Napoli and grateful for the opportunity to play under Luciano Spalletti.
“The truth is what’s happening to me is incredible. I hope the fans are as happy as I am, as we are,” he told France Football. “The whole environment you’re talking about deserves this happiness. They are the ones who gave me the confidence that a young player needs to really explode.”
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United or Chelsea will continue their pursuit of Osimhen, but it appears that the striker’s focus is firmly on helping Napoli to achieve their ambitions in the remainder of the season.
Aside, Manchester united and Chelsea, French giant, Paris Saint Germain is keen on also getting Osimhen’s signature.
