Police officers stationed at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Adamawa have reportedly denied entry to accredited journalists who were seeking access to the state collation center.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the incident occurred during the ongoing presidential and gubernatorial elections in the state.
According to sources, the INEC collation center may be relocated from Bank Road to Dougerei, which could explain the heightened security measures being taken.
Despite being accredited, journalists were shocked to be turned away by the police, leaving them unable to cover the ongoing sorting of votes at the center.
As it stands, some collation officers are already present at the center and engaged in the vote-counting process.
