JUST IN: VP Shettima arrives Maiduguri for condolence visit after explosions


Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno state, for an on-the-spot assessment and condolence visit following recent tragic incidents in the state.
Shettima arrived on Wednesday on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is currently on a state visit to the United Kingdom.
The vice-president was received at the Maiduguri International Airport by Umar Usman Kadafur, deputy governor of Borno state.
Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan representing Borno central senatorial district, was also present at the airport.
Other National Assembly members, state officials and party leaders were also at the airport to receive the vice-president.
VP Shettima is expected to visit survivours of the recent coordinated bomb blasts in the city by terrorists.
