The Labour Party (LP) has declared that Barrister Julius Abure remains the national chairman of the party. This was disclosed in reaction to a ruling by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) state high court.
According to the party, the state high court refused to decline jurisdiction on the matter brought by Apapa and co against Labour Party and Julius Abure and co.
Going further, LP says it will be appealing the ruling because the party will not get justice from the court.
Politics Nigeria reports that the party disclosed this in a statement made available on its website.
The statement read:
“Today at the FCT state high court, the presiding judge refused to decline jurisdiction on the matter brought by Apapa and co against Labour Party and Julius Abure and co. In his Lordship ruling, he said that he will go ahead to hear the substantive matter. The matter has been adjourned to Friday, May 19 for further deliberation.
“However, we are appealing the ruling immediately because we know we will not get justice from the court.
“Meanwhile, Barrister Julius Abure remains the National Chairman of the Party pending the final determination of the matter.”
