JUST IN: IGP Disu to Decorate Newly Promoted AIGs, CPs Amid Internal Reshuffle

Senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force are set to be formally decorated today (Monday) following recent promotions, with newly elevated Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) expected to assume their new ranks.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, will personally preside over the decoration ceremony.

The event comes amid ongoing internal reshuffles within the force, as leadership positions across key commands and units undergo review.

Sources within the police hierarchy revealed that Moshood Jimoh, currently the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, is actively lobbying to retain a strategic role in the state.

According to the sources, Jimoh is seeking a posting either as head of Zone 2 Command in Onikan, Lagos Island, or at the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID) Annex in Alagbon, both considered highly influential positions within the force.

“The new AIGs and CPs are set to be decorated today (Monday),” a police source told SaharaReporters. “Meanwhile, Lagos CP Moshood Jimoh is intensifying his lobby to remain in Lagos, either to head Zone 2 Command or the FCIID Alagbon.”

Zone 2 Command supervises police operations in Lagos and Ogun State, while the FCIID Alagbon office serves as a major investigative hub handling high-profile criminal cases.

The promotions and reshuffles are part of the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing efforts under IGP Disu to strengthen operations nationwide and reposition the force through strategic deployments and leadership adjustments.
