The Labour Party (LP) candidate in the February 25 presidential election, Peter Obi, has just arrived at the venue of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Obi is among the petitioners contesting the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Presidential Election and Nigeria’s President-elect on March 1st.
Having attended the recent commissioning of the Dangote Refinery in Lagos State, Obi joins the league of individuals taking part in today’s legal proceedings.
The panel is presided over by Justice Tsamani.
Previously, this newspaper reported on the dismissal of a suit filed by lawyers representing Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, which sought the live broadcast of the tribunal proceedings.
The justices ruling on the matter cited that the request for televised proceedings lacked relevance to the petition and lacked support from existing legislation.
