VIDEO: El-Rufai Faces ICPC in Court as Supporters Storm Kaduna Court Premises

Supporters of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Tuesday gathered at the premises of the Federal High Court in Kaduna.

According to an earlier report by Politics Nigeria, El-Rufai, who appeared before the court, is being arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over alleged money laundering.

The arraignment comes amid increasing pressure from stakeholders, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

It would be recalled that the former governor has been in detention since his arrest upon returning to the country from Egypt.

While in ICPC custody, El-Rufai reportedly declined to respond to questions from investigators, invoking his right to remain silent.

He had also filed a fundamental rights enforcement suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging the search of his residence by the ICPC and the remand order issued on February 19.
