78 killed, 12 kidnapped in Tinubu’s first week – Report

No fewer than 78 Nigerians have been killed and 12 abducted across the country since President Bola Tinubu took over from his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

Politics Nigeria reports that the incidents occurred in Rivers, Zamfara, Kaduna, Ogun, Sokoto, and the Federal Capital Territory.

This was contained in data obtained from the Nigeria Security Tracker, a project of the Council on Foreign Relations.

In Rivers state, four people were killed by gunmen while two were beheaded on May 29.

The report indicated that a bandits  killed a vigilante leader and 24 others in Zamfara on May 30.

In Kano, two APC women leaders were kidnapped after attending the Kaduna governor’s inauguration while bandits killed a man and abducted his wife, and four kids in Kaduna.

According to the report, six persons lost their lives in cult clashes in Rivers while gunmen killed three and abducted two people in Ogun state on May 31.

On June 4, four people were kidnapped in Abuja as bandits killed 37 over refusal to pay levy in Sokoto.
