The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court 40 in Bwari, Abuja, has removed the recently elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa Jr.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a verdict delivered on Tuesday afternoon, Justice Mohammed Madugu rendered all actions carried out by Chief Victor Ikechukwu Oye null and void.
This ruling came after the Supreme Court, in a judgment on March 24, 2023, removed Oye’s name from the records of APGA’s history.
In a significant turn of events, Chief Oye’s name has been replaced with that of Chief Edozie Njoku, who the apex court has affirmed as the legitimate National Chairman of APGA.
The court explicitly declared that all actions undertaken by Oye were unlawful, emphasising their invalidity.
Furthermore, Justice Madugu directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to officially acknowledge Chief Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA in compliance with the Supreme Court’s judgment on March 24.
In response to the ruling, prominent APGA figure, Sir Chikwe Udensi, the new chairman of APGA Chief Edozie Njoku, and other party leaders expressed their satisfaction with the judgment, which annulled Oye’s activities during the recent election.
