Details of Tinubu’s Meeting with over 40 APC Senators-elect Emerge

Details have emerged regarding the meeting between Bola Tinubu and over 40 APC senators-elect at Aso Rock.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the meeting took place in preparation for the upcoming inauguration of the 10th Senate, scheduled for next week on Tuesday.

During the meeting, President Bola Tinubu urged the Senators-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to honour the party’s zoning arrangements, as announced by the National Working Committee (NWC).

It should be noted that last month, the APC designated the position of Senate President in the 10th Assembly to the South-South, with Senator Godswill Akpabio as the preferred candidate. Additionally, Senator Jubrin Barau from the North West was chosen as the preferred candidate for the position of deputy Senate President.

Adamu Garba, a former Presidential Aspirant, revealed that Tinubu made this appeal while addressing the group of over 40 APC Senators-elect, with Senator Akpabio leading the delegation, at the Aso Rock Villa on Wednesday night.

In a tweet from his verified handle, Adamu said Tinubu emphasised the importance of adhering to the party’s zoning arrangement in the election of their Presiding Officers, stating that it is the right thing to do in support of the Renewed Hope agenda of his administration.
