2027: Gov Fubara’s Ex-CoS Dismisses Rumours Linking Him to ADC Political Plot

The former Chief of Staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Edison Ehie, has denied claims linking him to a supposed 2027 deputy governorship ambition.

In a statement released on Saturday, Ehie described the reports as false and politically motivated.

The clarification came after a poster circulating in public spaces alleged that he was part of a planned political arrangement on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The poster further claimed that Ehie was aligned with former NIMASA Director-General Dakuku Peterside in a bid to “free Rivers from the hands of one man.”

Ehie dismissed the claims as “mischievous and desperate,” insisting they were a calculated attempt to mislead the public and create division within the state’s political space.

He firmly denied any involvement in the alleged arrangement and stressed that the use of his name in the campaign material was unauthorized and misleading.

A longtime stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Ehie reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and expressed continued support for Governor Fubara.

He added that Rivers State does not need “rescue from imaginary enemies,” noting that the state is currently enjoying purposeful leadership and unity under the present administration.

Ehie cautioned those behind the propaganda to desist, urging residents to ignore the poster and remain focused on the collective progress of the state. He reiterated that his allegiance remains with the APC and the leadership of Governor Fubara.
