A group known as ICP Justice has praised Peter Obi for the ongoing reforms being executed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group made this known while reacting to a tweet by David Malpass, former president of the World Bank Group, Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury.
Malpass, in the tweet, had praised Tinubu for his steps since he was sworn in as Nigerian president.
In reaction, the group countered the American by insisting that Peter Obi raises awareness of the issues Tinubu is fixing.
The group wrote:
”Peter Obi and his political movement, the Obidients, played a significant role in raising awareness of the problems with fuel subsidies and multiple exchange rates in Nigeria.
”His campaign’s focus on these issues helped to put them on the national agenda and to create pressure on the government to take action.
‘In Nigeria, it is important to give credit where credit is due, and we believe that Peter Obi deserves a lot of credit for the progress that has been made on these issues.
”His campaign helped to start a serious conversation that was long overdue, and we hope that the government will continue to move forward with the reforms that are necessary to create a more efficient and competitive economy in Nigeria.
”We also believe that it is important to remember that the removal of government subsidies and multiple exchange rates is not a silver bullet.
”There is still political instability in Nigeria, and Peter Obi is the only one keeping the country and the youths calm.”
