The Speaker of Ondo House of Assembly, Honourable Olamide Oladiji, has assured the indigenes of the state that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would soon resume duties.
Politics Nigeria gathered that Governor Akeredolu, last week, embarked on medical leave and handed power to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Speaker Oladiji, who called on lawmakers to always remember the Governor in their prayers, noted that the state would soon witness a transformational change.
The Ondo Speaker spoke at a meeting with Principal Officers on Wednesday, June 21, in his office, where he called on House members to continue working together as a formidable team for the overall development of the state.
Governor Akeredolu, a former Nigerian Bar Association chairman, has had health challenges in the past few months.
Before his extended medical vacation, the governor had visibly lost weight, sparking rumours about his health status in the south-west state.
