Air Vice Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar has officially assumed the position of the 22nd Chief of the Nigeria Air Force.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the handover took place as his predecessor, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, symbolically passed on the NAF Colours, marking the transition of leadership.
This development comes in the wake of President Bola Tinubu’s decision to replace all service chiefs. The decision was confirmed through an official statement issued by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Monday.
The statement further revealed that the newly appointed Service Chiefs, along with the Inspector-General of Police and the Comptroller General of Customs, will assume their roles on an acting basis until their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
