Alhaji Idirissu Amin, popularly known as Idi Amin, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council and a close associate of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has passed away.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that family sources revealed that the former chairman of Maiha Local Government Council in Adamawa State succumbed to a prolonged illness.
Idi Amin, akin to the towering figure of former Ugandan President Idi Amin, gained widespread recognition in Adamawa for his charismatic personality.
The Chief Press Secretary to Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, conveyed his condolences in a heartfelt message.
He said, “I offer my deepest condolences to the family as we mourn the passing of a fearless political activist who was a leader in his own right. Our sadness is compounded by this loss at a time when the State needs the services of Honorable Idi Amin. I pray that Allah grants your family and Maiha Local Government the fortitude to bear this loss, forgives his sins, and grants him Aljannah Firdausi.”
