Buhari Opens up on Fleeing Daura to London

Immediate past president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has disclosed his reason for leaving Daura, Katsina State, for London.

The former president declared that he left Daura for London to get some peace and quiet in London.

Buhari explained that visitors have been trooping to visit him in his hometown of Daura since he arrived after the end of his second tenure as president.

Buhari’s former spokesperson, Garba Shehu, stated this in a statement on Thursday.

“He chose to go home in Daura hoping to find the type of quiet he wished for himself, but realizing that this was not the case, visitors trooping in morning, day and night, he moved out to a more distant place,” Shehu said.

“It remains his wish that he be allowed to have his needed rest, and for the Tinubu administration to have the right atmosphere to work on the realisation of the promises they made.”

Politics Nigeria earlier reported that following the end of Buhari’s administration, the ex-president returned to his hometown of Daura.

President Bola Tinubu recently met with Buhari in London.
