JUST IN: Former PDP guber candidate in Kaduna quits party, joins ADC

Isa Mohammed Ashiru, former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna state, has resigned from the party and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Ashiru announced his resignation in a letter dated March 27, 2026, addressed to the PDP ward chairman in Kudan ward, Kudan LGA of Kaduna state.

In the letter, the former governorship candidate said his decision followed persistent leadership crises and divisions within the PDP.

“I write with a deep sense of humility to formally notify the leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) of my decision to resign my membership of the party effective from today the 27th day of March, 2026,” he said.

Ashiru said the internal conflicts within the party had made it difficult for him to continue participating actively as a member.

“After a careful reflection over the persistent internal leadership crisis, conflicts, rancor and divisions within the party, it has become increasingly difficult for me to continue to participate actively as a member of the party,” he said.

He described the decision as personal and taken in good faith and asked the party leadership to accept the letter as formal notice of his resignation.
