BREAKING: Former Ekiti Governor, Ayo Fayose, Visits President Tinubu at Aso Rock

Ayodele Fayose, a former Governor of Ekiti State, on Thursday, July 6, visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja.

Photos the presidential media team released showed Fayose inside the president’s office discussing with the Nigerian leader.

It is unclear why the former governor visited Tinubu, but he is a known admirer of the president.

Recall that back in 2021, Fayose visited Tinubu after the latter underwent knee surgery in London.

Though a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) back then, Fayose did not hide that he holds the current Nigerian president in high esteem.

“Today, I was at Bourdillon to wish Asiwaju Bola Tinubu soonest recovery.

“Health issues know no political party, and in this part of the world, we seldom celebrate people when they are alive. Rather, we like to sign condolence registers. To me, that is not the best way to live,” Fayose wrote back then.

During the 2023 presidential election, many political observers believe the former governor worked for the emergence of Tinubu.

Atiku Abubakar was his party’s candidate, and Fayose aligned with the G5 governors led by former Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike, who opposed the PDP presidential candidate’s aspirations.

Tinubu won the presidential election in Ekiti state, where Fayose exerted much influence.

Tinubu won in all 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
