Reactions as Kano Police Plans Football Match with ‘Repentant Thugs’

In a bid to transform lives positively, the Kano Police Command says it will play a friendly football match with some repentant thugs in the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Usaini Gumel, disclosed this on Thursday while parading 108 suspects arrested for various crimes during the last Sallah celebration.

He said the approach is aimed at adopting a different strategy to ensure the rehabilitation and reintegration of former criminals.

The announcement of the football match between the police and repentant thugs has garnered mixed reactions from the public.

While some individuals appreciated the effort to rehabilitate former criminals, others express concerns about the potential risks involved in engaging individuals with a criminal background.

The Kano State Police Command, however, said it would take necessary precautions to ensure the safety and security of all participants.
