Nigerian music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed why he failed to sign Afrobeats superstars, Wizkid and Davido to his defunct label, Mo’hits Records.
The Mavin Record boss revealled that he could not sign Wizkid to the label as EME boss, Banky W, got to the Starboy before him.
Don Jazzy noted that he had the opportunity of signing Davido but did not after figuring out that he would succeed without a record label’s support.
The producer, however, regretted not signing Simi and Teni adding that that he almost signed rapper, Falz The Bahd Guy, but the deal broke down.
Don Jazzy made the revelations while featuring as a guest on the Leaderboard podcast hosted by Fisayo Fosudo.
“I like Simi, I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I like Teni, but I didn’t sign her. I wish I did,” Jazzy said.
