Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Jurrien Timber from Ajax as the experienced defender becomes the club’s second arrival of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners picked the vibrant youth as the perfect man to bolster their defensive options, with the Dutch international establishing himself as one of Eredivisie’s most consistent centre-backs recently.
Timber had been focused on a move to the Emirates Stadium and believed the perfect club was the best place to be as he furthers his career.
Timber’s entry into the club came on the heels of news that the Gunners have spent over £100million already this summer after he completed a £34.2million (€40million) move from Ajax with a potential further £4.3million in add-ons (€5million).
Kai Havertz was Mikel Arteta’s first signing this summer after the German completed a £65million switch to north London from Chelsea.
