Taraba Governor Constitutes Committee to Recover Stolen Assets

A committee with the sole responsibility of assessing and recovering all stolen assets in Taraba state has been inaugurated by the governor, Agbu Kefas.

The announcement was contained in a press statement made available to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital, by the secretary to the state government, Barrister Gebon Kataps.

The committee is responsible for ascertaining the number of movable and immovable assets in Kaduna, including the liaison office in Lagos, Abuja and any other part of the Federal Capital Territory.

Governor Kefas ordered the committee to make an overall assessment of the monetary value of each asset, as well as their suitability of usage by the state government.

The committee was given four weeks to submit its reports to the government and appropriate recommendations to the state government.

The committee is headed by a retired major general, Habila Vintenaba, with Saleh Aji as its secretary.

Other members are Rtd Colonel Nwunuke Agyo, Rtd Navy Captain Atiku Bakari, Professor Mahmud Hamid Umar and Fatima Hassan, among others nominees.
