The Senate is currently in a closed-door session to possibly discuss the ministerial nominees sent to it by President Bola Tinubu.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that President Tinubu has allegedly nominated a number of high-profile individuals to his cabinet, including the immediate-past governors of Rivers, Kaduna, Osun, and Cross River states. The nominees are Nyesom Wike, Nasir E-Rufai, Gboyega Oyetola, and Ben Ayade, respectively.
Others said to be on the list include President Tinubu’s top aide, Dele Alake; Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; APC national woman leader, Dr. Betta Edu; former Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Wale Edun; ex-Minister of State for Health, Prof. Ali Pate; and ex-deputy governor of CBN, Adebayo Adelabu, from Oyo State.
The Senate president is expected to announce the list in plenary today.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele said two days ago that the president personally told him the ministerial list would be ready by Thursday. He asked Nigerians to pray for the president to make the right choice.
