JUST IN: Dangote Refinery Again Increases Petrol Price Across Nigeria

The Dangote Refinery has again raised the price of petrol across Nigeria.
The latest increase comes amid rising global crude oil prices and growing tension in the Middle East.
Checks on Tuesday by POLITICS NIGERIA showed that the refinery adjusted its gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit to N1,275 per litre.
The new price is up from N1,200 per litre. This represents an increase of N75, about five percent.
The development comes after days of relative stability in local fuel prices. Market watchers say the adjustment reflects pressure from the international oil market. Crude oil prices have remained volatile in recent days.
The increase is also linked to fresh geopolitical concerns. The United States President, Donald Trump, recently issued strong warnings over a possible escalation of conflict involving Iran. The situation has raised fears of supply disruptions in the global oil market.
Despite the price hike, the refinery has moved to calm concerns about availability. Speaking during a tour of the facility, Aliko Dangote assured Nigerians and other African countries of steady supply.
“What I can do is assure Nigerians and most of West Africa, Central Africa, and East Africa that we have the capacity to supply them,” he said.
Industry analysts say such assurances may help reduce panic buying. However, they note that price changes are likely to continue if global oil prices remain unstable.
At the time of filing this report, crude benchmarks remained high. West Texas Intermediate stood at about $110 per barrel, while Brent crude traded around $105 per barrel.
The refinery’s latest move comes weeks after a price reduction announced on March 27, 2026. At the time, the drop was linked to a decline in global oil prices.
