Medical practitioners working at the General Hospital in the Odan, Lagos Island area of Lagos State were seen protesting on Wednesday, August 2, demanding justice for their colleague, Vwaere Diaso, who fell to her death in an elevator.
In some videos shared on Twitter, the doctors can be seen marching outside the hospital premises dressed in black outfits and holding inscriptions.
Some of the inscriptions read: “The system is rigged against young doctors”, “Let doctors breathe, Dr Vwaere couldn’t breathe”, “It could have been me”, while they sang “, All we are saying is give us justice”.
It was gathered that Diaso was set to finish her horsemanship in two weeks at the hospital when the unfortunate accident happened on her way to collect her meal from a dispatch rider.
Her father was said to have collapsed when he received the sad news.
