Former Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday, August 15, paid a visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at his residence in Abuja.
Wike’s visit to Ganduje was made public by the APC via its official Twitter handle.
It was noted in the tweet that the former Rivers governor visited Ganduje to congratulate him on his election as the ruling party’s national chairman.
Wike is one of the minister-designates nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and cleared by the Senate.
Before the presidential election, talks were rife that Wike might defect to the APC.
At the same time, a section of political observers and commentators believed that he worked for President Tinubu behind the scene, a notion the former governor confirmed recently.
