The Katsina State Government has banned the use of commercial motorcycles and tricycles at night over security concerns.
Nasiru Mu’azu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement on Sunday, explained that the ban is with effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
According to the statement, the order affects local government areas fully affected by banditry and other related crimes.
“Among them (local government areas) are Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari and Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari and Kankia,” the statement read.
He urged members of the public to understand that the purpose of the order is to restore permanent peace in areas being affected by bandits.
