Hoodlums vs taskforce: Police in Lagos confirm killing of driver at Mile 2

The police command in Lagos state has said that peace and order have returned to the Mile 2 area of the state following a clash between hoodlums and officials of the force.

The command, through its spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, also disclosed on Tuesday, September 5, that a commercial bus driver was killed in the clash.

Hundeyin said:

“CP Idowu Owohunwa @LagosPoliceNG on ground at Mile 2 to assess the situation. Total normalcy has been restored.

“Meanwhile, investigation into the killing of a driver has commenced.

“I can confirm that police patrol teams have arrived the scene, obstacles are being cleared and free flow of traffic picking up again. Further updates to follow…”

Earlier, there was chaos in the area on Tuesday as residents barricaded roads, distorting the free flow of traffic.

A video seen by The Nation revealed that the Mile 2 axis was blocked with residents burning tyres on the road.
