Ex-Kaduna Gov El-Rufai to Contest 2027 Presidency – Loyalist Reveals [VIDEO]
A close ally of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has disclosed that the ex-governor is preparing to run for the presidency in upcoming 2027 general elections.
Politics Nigeria reports that the revelation was made by Hayatudeen Lawal Makarfi, a loyalist within El-Rufai’s political camp.
He spoke during an interview with journalists, where he hinted that groundwork for the ambition is already ongoing.
“The journey toward the presidency has already begun,” Makarfi said.
El-Rufai, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and two-term governor of Kaduna State, remains a strong voice in national politics. He is known for his bold positions on governance and policy reforms.
Though the former governor has not publicly declared his intention, the comment by his ally is expected to spark debate across the political space.
