In a heart-touching display of love and affection on Tuesday, September 12, Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle hugged Nigerian athlete Glory Essien and described her as ‘my Nigerian sister.”
The Mail reports that this happened at the Invictus Games in Germany, which was set up by her husband, Harry, for wounded and disabled military veterans.
At the event, Meghan was said to have taken centre stage and given an emotional address to 1,600 competitors, friends, and family in Dusseldorf as she saluted all those attending the games.
Among those she greeted beforehand was competitor Glory Essien, who she hugged and told: ‘You’re my Nigerian sister!’
On his part, Prince Harry revealed that his wife was cheering on the African nation as he discovered she is 43% Nigerian.
Meghan had done a genealogy test that traced a part of her genealogy to Nigeria some years ago.
