New report reveals Wike may have resigned his membership of PDP

A report by ThisDay indicates that speculation has been rife about the possible resignation of Nyesom Wike, the FCT minister, from his long-standing membership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and a potential affiliation with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the report, the former governor of Rivers state may have quietly switched to the APC but has chosen not to make it public.

According to speculations, the alleged motive behind this secrecy is to maintain a degree of ambiguity and continue to exert influence over the PDP’s fortunes by inflicting what some have referred to as “collateral damage.”

Wike, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, has been a staunch member of the PDP for many years and has played a significant role within the party’s ranks.

His leadership in Rivers state has often been characterised by solid and vocal opposition to the APC-led federal government.

The reported party switch, if true, could have far-reaching implications for the political landscape in Rivers state and beyond.

However, the speculations remain unverified, and there has been no official statement from Wike or the political parties involved.
