BREAKING: Police arraign Ogun LGA chair in court for accusing Gov Abiodun of diverting funds

The impeached chairman of the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun, Adewale Adedayo, has been charged to court by the state’s police command.

Police operatives had whisked Adedayo away from his home Monday evening in the state capital, Abeokuta.

The spokesperson of the Ogun state police command confirmed the arrest and said they were acting on the orders of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Adedayo had, in a petition, accused Governor Abiodun of diverting statutory Federal allocations of all the 20 local government areas in the state.

On Tuesday morning, he was charged to a Magistrate Court at Isabo, Abeokuta, over the petition.

Governor Abiodun had meted the same treatment to a blogger in the state last year.

In a post, the blogger accused the governor of incompetence and massive looting.
