The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna has dismissed a preliminary objection filed by Governor Uba Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking to dismiss the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Sani’s legal team had argued that the PDP’s petition was filed outside the 21 days allowed by law.
However, the tribunal affirmed that the petition was filed on April 10, 2023, within the time limit.
The three-man panel, led by Justice Victor Oviawe, therefore dismissed Sani’s motion.
The tribunal will give judgement today.
