The Police in Lagos has confirmed the arrest of Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, over the death of afrobeats musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as MohBad.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Sam Larry’s arrest on Thursday night.
“Yes, Balogun Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation,” Hundeyin said.
According to the police, Sam Larry arrived in Nigeria from Nairobi Kenya at about 10pm Nigerian time.
He was immediately picked by officers of the Nigeria Police to the command headquarters.
Arriving at the headquarters at about 10:30pm Sam Larry was taken to see the commissioner of Police where he was questioned and then handed over to DC Panti.
He is expected to help the Police with more information in their investigation.
The police had earlier invited Sam Larry and singer, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, for questioning over Mohbad’s passing.
The police, last week, also confirmed that pathologists had concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while they await the result.
