Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, have finally reconciled after months of political differences, according to a report on Friday.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the two leaders met on Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area of the state.
This comes after Obaseki accepted Shaibu’s apology on Thursday, saying that to err is human, but to forgive is divine.
The two leaders had been at loggerheads over Shaibu’s ambition to govern the state. Last week, the deputy governor begged his principal for forgiveness over their political differences.
“I use this medium to appeal to Mr Governor, if there is anything that I don’t know that I have done, please forgive me so that we can develop our state together,” Shaibu said in Benin while addressing journalists.
A week later, the governor, in a statement he signed, described as unwarranted provocations the petitions signed by his deputy restraining him and security agencies from beginning impeachment proceedings.
