Popular Nigerian Musician Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, was seen looking sombre and expressing his grief at his mother’s candlelight procession in a now-viral video.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Wizkid lost his mother in August 2023 and has not been active on social media or in the public domain since the event.
However, he made his first appearance in public since his mother’s passing to attend the candlelight procession.
The musician was born in Surulere, Lagos, on July 26, 1990, and grew up in a polygamous home with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His mother was a strong supporter of his music career and was said to have played a key role in his rise to fame.
His fans have been sending him their condolences and support on social media.
