The Rivers State House of Assembly complex was thrown into chaos on Monday morning as police officers poured water on Governor Sim Fubara and assaulted him.
Governor Fubara had arrived at the Assembly complex with dozens of his supporters amid reports that the lawmakers were set to commence impeachment proceedings against him.
Video footage of the incident shows police officers using water to disperse the crowd, including the governor.
