Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state has commissioned 110-bed spaces at the isolation centre in Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan.
In a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, said the new bed spaces will take care of new patients confirmed in the state.
The commissioner also commended Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) and others that helped in the donation of the isolation centre.
Abayomi revealed that the operation of the center has begun on Wednesday with seven patients on admission.
He added that no fewer than 60 medical personnel and support staff with expertise that have been deployed to the facility.
