Ahead of the Appeal Court’s verdict on the state’s gubernatorial election dispute, Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has appealed to stakeholders and party loyalists to maintain peace and refrain from provocative comments.
The governor made these known in a statement issued on Wednesday evening.
He expressed his readiness to accept the outcome of the court’s decision, emphasising the importance of unity, peace, and development for the state.
The governor urged residents of Nasarawa State to prioritise the state’s well-being over personal interests and reaffirmed his unwavering faith in the nation’s judiciary as the ultimate defender of the common man.
He called for continued prayers for victory, emphasising the spirit of forgiveness even in the face of adversity. Governor Sule further stated his commitment to forgiveness and grace while simultaneously urging the opposition party to embrace peaceful coexistence during this politically charged period.
To ensure the maintenance of peace and order, Governor Sule informed the public that security operatives have been deployed to strategic locations. He warned that any individuals caught fomenting trouble will be dealt with accordingly.
The Appeal Court’s judgment on the Nasarawa State governorship election is expected to be delivered today, Thursday, November 23.
