Dozens of protesters have stormed Lafia, capital of Nasarawa, following the declaration of Abdullahi Sule as the rightfully elected governor of the state by the Court of Appeal, Abuja.
Marching through the streets in their numbers, the protesters were seen wielding placards with various inscriptions while chanting solidarity songs.
Politics Nigeria reports that the Appeal Court had reversed the ruling of the governorship tribunal which sacked Sule of the APC.
The tribunal had declared David Ombugadu of the PDP as winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election.
The APC has also begged Ombugadu not to take the matter to the Supreme Court for further interpretation.
