Following the recent abduction of children from various schools across states of the country, the Bauchi State government has ordered the immediate closure of schools in the state.

The state government in a directive issued on Monday, November 24, said all primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions will remain closed.

In addition, the Bauchi State government said that this directive on school closure includes both the government-owned and private institutions.

In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Ministry of Education, Jalaludeen Usman, the state government said its decision follows extensive consultations and a careful assessment of threats to the safety of students, teachers, and school communities.
